our resident poet laureate

KWB has been reading ALOT of Jack Pretlutsky and you can see the influence here:

                                    A Big and Hairy Dellima

A Big and Hairy Dellima

came to the door

It squashed the house with berries,

dropped bananas on the floor.

It was only having fun

It made a grape juice geyser

His fun was done

When I shot him with a tranquilizer.

everyday is a good day to become an aunt

especially today

Please pray for my sister in law, Tracy, as she prepares to give birth via caesarean any time now. She went in for a scheduled appointment, was having contractions, they couldn't get them to stop, and voila - admitted to the hospital. She is 35-36 weeks so please pray both for her peace and for the baby to be healthy at this early age.

In the midst of this joyous event, KWB has a school project tomorrow, we are supposed to have Bible study tonight, and the kids are practicing kicking field goals as I write (that would be indoors, people), I have Friday folders (a room mom thing), dinner, scholastic book orders, prescription refills, and a broken dryer to be repaired. So while you're at it, pray for my mental health over the coming hours. Because I want to blow it all off and high-tail it over to the hospital to see the new babe. And as soon as I track down my babysitter, that is exactly what I'm going to do.

The End.

word study

what's your word gonna be?

mine is PURSUE:
  • to strive to gain; seek to attain or accomplish (an end, object, purpose, etc .)
  • to proceed in accordance with (a method, plan, etc.)
  • to carry on or continue (a course of action, a train of thought, an inquiry, studies, etc.)

i'm a fairly passive girl, so i purposely chose an action verb.

unfortunately, just writing action verbs doesn't actually translate into action.

Could You Describe the Ruckus?

After tucking in the cherubs, the hubs and I sat down to watch a movie. And we heard the pitter patter, more of a stomp really, of little feet. I sent Dad up to investigate and heard this:

"Dad, Karl's going to turn me into a rabbit!" - The Owen said with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Mostly excitement.

We told Karl he needs to use his new magic set for good, not evil. Like Spiderman.

2fer Tuesday

1. We discovered that driving into DC at 10:30 on a cold Sunday morning in December to visit the National Air & Space Museum means you will park directly across the street.

2. After watching the Fighter Pilot IMAX movie, I was certain one of the 3 musketeers would decide they were going to fly.

KWB: Nope, too risky. (mr. conservative)

Caleb: Nope, too much killing. I'm going to be a wide receiver. (because football is non-violent)

The Owen: Nope, I'm going to be a rockstar. (it's all about visibility)

Shows you what I know.

The End.

*I haven't forgotten the calendar giftaway. I'm at work, winners announcement this afternoon.
