A few worthy titles for both you and the kiddos:
The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr. - seems like a good place to start.
I Have a Dream: Writings and Speeches that Changed the World The Civil Rights Movement for Kids: A History with 21 Activities by Mary C. Tuck.
If You Lived at the Time of Martin Luther King Jr. - I'm a fan of this series for kids - it works at giving them insight into the culture and surroundings, not just flat facts on a page.
Martin's Big Words: The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by Doreen Rappaport
The Story of Ruby Bridges by Robert Cole
If A Bus Could Talk: The Story of Rosa Parks by Faith Ringgold - I haven't seen this in person, but Faith Ringgold's books are so beautifully illustrated that I can only imagine how lovely this must be.
Happy Reading!
The End.
Great list - I've now requested a few of the children's books from the library. You are dangerous!

I love Martin's Big Words. I bought it at the MLK museum in Atlanta. I'll have to check these others out as well.
