Every Last Cuckoo by Kate Maloy
Seventy five year old Sarah Lucas handles her grief over the loss of her husband in a unique way. She decides to open her home to relatives and friends. The eclectic menagerie of guests and their stories of heartache and growing pains enrich Sarah's life. I enjoyed this book, my biggest complaint was the author's lack of subtlety with Sarah's hipness and liberal ways. Okay, I get it, the lady is from Vermont (no offense, I lovermont, and all of it's independent & eccentric people) and she's much cooler than her own children and she's unorthodox in many ways. There was a bit of trying to hard to get that point across, so I deducted a star for that. I do think many readers will be able to see past it and love this book. I liked it. 3 stars
The End.
